Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What’s the difference between speech and language therapy?

A: Speech therapy focuses on how a child makes sounds. Language therapy supports understanding and expression — using words, sentences, and ideas. Many children need both.
Q2: How do I know if my child needs therapy?

A: If your child is frequently misunderstood, uses fewer words than peers, has trouble following directions, or shows erratic speech errors past typical ages, consider an evaluation.
Q3: How early can therapy begin?

A: We often begin work with toddlers — even before they speak well. Early intervention gives children more support during critical language growth windows.
Q4: How often are sessions and how long until progress is seen?

A: Most clients begin with 1–2 sessions per week. Many families notice improvements in clarity, confidence, and consistency within 8–12 weeks when strategies are consistently practiced.
Q5: Is speech therapy covered by insurance?

A: Most insurance plans cover speech-language therapy. We are not able to direct bill insurance but we are able to provide detailed receipts to support with reimbursement. Each insurance plan is unique and we encourage you to ask your provider what SLP coverage is available for your child.
Q6: Will therapy only happen at home?

A: Not at all. While we offer in-home sessions for convenience and familiarity, we also work in community settings to generalize skills across environments.
